On the occasion of Remembrance Day, Queen Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales “Festival of Remembrance” took place at the Royal Albert Hall. On site, the monarch unveils statues of his beloved parents.

Remembrance Day is traditionally celebrated in Great Britain on November 11th to commemorate the soldiers and civilians killed in war. Since 1923, the so-called “Festival of Rembrance” has taken place on that day at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The event brings together military and civilian artists, veterans, members of the armed forces and anyone else who wants to pay their respects to those killed in war – including the Royal Family. King Charles74, and Queen Camilla76, have now taken on a special task when they arrive at the concert hall.

In the early evening of November 11, 2023, King Charles and Queen Camila arrived in front of the London concert hall. But before they go in, they master a memorable and moving item on the program: the royal couple unveil new statues of Prince Philip†99, and Queen Elizabeth, †96. A poignant moment that visibly touches the monarch. This is proven by various recordings that, among others, Rebecca English, royal correspondent for the Daily Mail, posted on X, formerly Twitter. According to her, the statues were commissioned by the Royal Albert Hall to mark its 150th anniversary.

Meet shortly afterwards too Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, both 41, at the venue. They get out of their car in a good mood and go to the concert hall. For the special occasion, Kate chose a black dress by Emily Wickstead, which she wore with a pearl necklace that once belonged to the Queen. However, the most important accessory that everyone wears is the poppy flower pin on their lapel.

Finally, based on the poem “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae, the poppy is intended to remind us of the fields of Flanders reddened by the blood of the soldiers. In addition, the corn poppies were the first to bloom on the freshly dug up hills of soldiers’ graves.
