This change in dates comes as a surprise. King Felipe and Queen Letizia will not host the Spanish women’s football team after their victory at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The royal couple was actually supposed to meet the athletes tomorrow, but the date no longer appears in the Spanish royal family’s calendar published on Friday.
Queen Letizia, 51, and King Felipe, 55, were actually supposed to meet the Spanish soccer heroines, who won against England in the final of the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and thus secured the trophy for the first time, on Tuesday, September 19th. At least that was the plan since August 22nd. But that’s not happening now. The reason for this could be the kissing scandal that was triggered by ex-association president Luis Rubiales.
