On January 14, 2024, the change of throne took place in Denmark: Queen Margrethe, 83, abdicated and King Frederik, 55, became the new monarch. On Wednesday, January 17th, the palace unexpectedly announced that Frederik would publish his first book as regent, entitled “Kongeord” (English: “King’s Words”). This is about the motto and plan of his future reign. But in Jens Andersen’s work, the father of four also speaks “about family, marriage and the journey through life – from the young, hesitant crown prince to the mature man, family man and monarch,” says the Politikens publishing house, according to “DR”. Frederik’s words about his wife Queen Mary, 51, are now particularly perceptive after the persistent rumors of an affair.

King Frederik raves about his marriage to Mary

We remember: At the beginning of November, the Spanish gossip magazine “Lecturas” published pictures showing Frederik together with the former Mexican model Genoveva Casanova, 47, during his visit to Madrid. The celebrity lady immediately rejected all speculation about a romantic relationship, but the affair rumors continue – even if the change of throne in Denmark is currently making more positive headlines.

In the book “Kongeord”, which is available to the Danish newspaper “Billed Bladet”, the king now remembers the beginnings of his relationship with Mary. The two met at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The fact that they met there was the greatest luck for him; higher powers were involved in the meeting. When they tied the knot in 2004, Queen Margrethe emphasized in her wedding speech that her eldest son had found peace and joy with Mary. By subsequently starting a family, another dream came true.

These words are particularly perceptive

King Frederik also says touching words about his family in the book, which can also be understood as an allusion to the rumors. “I love marriage, my wife, our children and all the happy foundation that is created for people who manage to stick together and persevere,” said the 55-year-old.

In particular, the part about sticking together and persevering seems to refer to difficult times. After all, being constantly confronted with speculation about a marital crisis shouldn’t be easy for Mary and Frederik. During the proclamation, the two appeared extremely in love on the castle balcony. They shared a kiss that has already gone down in history – and thus got off to a bright start as the new royal couple.
