King of Thailand: quartered in a German luxury hotel despite the Corona crisis

Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn (67) currently lives in the four-star hotel "Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl" in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the state of Bavaria. But because of the new regulations as a result of the Corona crisis, this luxury hotel should also have closed. As the "Bild" newspaper reports, a "special permit" for Rama X. was applied for and approved on March 18 at the competent district office.

"The guests are a single, homogeneous group of people with no fluctuation," quotes the official official statement. In addition, the hotel is no longer a pure accommodation establishment, but a residential building. Therefore, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and his followers, including 20 women from his "harem", are supposed to use the hotel privately.

Even before he became King of Thailand on October 3, 2016 and thus succeeded King Bhumibol (1927-2016), Maha Vajiralongkorn lived in Germany and Switzerland again and again. He owns a villa in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg south of Munich – there he is said to still have a registration address.
