Kitchen Impossible: Are Henssler and Mälzer really hostile to spiders?

TV chef Tim Mälzer (49) has been competing against well-known colleagues in the fifth season of "Kitchen Impossible" since the beginning of February. This Sunday (March 22nd, 8:15 p.m. at VOX, also via TVNow) he wants to prove for the first time against TV chef opponent Steffen Henssler (47) that he is the better cook. The two Hamburg colleagues like to squirm and share against each other in front of the TV camera. In 2018, Mälzer made a surprise appearance in the "Grill den Profi" summer special and officially challenged Henssler. And quite clearly. Mälzer has made it clear that he wants to "destroy" his buddy and colleague from Hamburg. Are the two really bad to talk to each other?

"With his big snout and arrogance, he always claims that he is the far better cook professionally. Many can talk, but he also has to deliver," said Tim Mälzer in an interview with spot on news in early February. Both celebrity chefs can be seen in successful TV formats and, with their restaurants, determine the Hamburg gastronomic landscape – the concept of competition is practically in the air. According to Mälzer, Henssler's promise for "Kitchen Impossible" was a long time coming. "I suspect he knew that he had something to lose. I then urged him publicly to accept it and he couldn't get out of the loop," he said in an interview.

You feel "friendly respect"

But the two cooks are wrongly given a bad relationship, says Mälzer. "It always gives the impression that we don't like each other because we don't miss the opportunity to talk badly about each other, but we do that out of friendly respect." The "fair and almost gentleman-like competition" with Henssler was a lot of fun, says Mälzer. The two even have one thing in common: "Steffen and I have the characteristic that we don't pick on the weaker, but only on the stronger. That was very nice in this duel."

In the highly anticipated "Kitchen Impossible" episode, Tim Mälzer sends Steffen Henssler to France and Japan for his cooking challenges. Steffen Henssler sends his opponents to Germany and America. Who can ultimately win the "battle of the giants"?
