On April 23rd, a new series of films with Grimme Prize winner Mariele Millowitsch (65, “Marie Brand”) will start on the first at 8:15 pm. In “Klara Sonntag – Small Fish, Big Fish”, the actress embodies a probation officer who, according to the announcement, takes criminals by the hand with empathetic severity.

In addition to Millowitsch, Nadja Becker (42), Bruno Cathomas (55) and Christian Grashof (77) can be seen. The first television film in the series was directed by director Oliver Schmitz (60). In the ARD-Mediathek there is the start the day before, on April 22nd.

What is it about

Sonntag (Millowitsch) is a seasoned probation officer who believes everyone deserves a second chance. Judge Thomas Aschenbach (Cathomas), with whom Sonntag has had an affair for 15 years, believes that this can put the bankruptcy fraudster Merle Scheffler (Becker) on the right track. The probation officer takes action, but shows her care for 80-year-old Rudi (Grashof), who has spent half his life behind bars. In her principle that everyone should really get a second chance, however, she wavers when old wounds tear open on her.
