BARCELONA (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Dutch airline KLM said on Tuesday it would limit ticket sales from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport due to restricted passenger traffic in September and October.

The company owned by Air France-KLM has clarified that it does not plan to cancel flights. Tickets for flights departing from Amsterdam will however be limited and the number of seats available will therefore be lower than usual on the Dutch market, explained KLM.

“These measures are necessary to keep the situation at Schiphol manageable for customers,” the company said in an emailed statement.

Schiphol Airport announced on Tuesday that it would limit daily departures to 67,500 people in September and 69,500 in October, due to staff shortages.
