It is during a Nintendo Direct that we discovered Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Seriesa compilation of the 2 remastered episodes of the short series of platform games. Bandai Namco Games had then only announced the release date of the Switch version for July 8, also promising other editions for “soon”.
Good news, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC editions via Steam will finally land on the same day, July 8, 2022. This was confirmed during the broadcast of the modernized opening cutscenes of Klonoa: Door to Phantom Island and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. Both will return for the record with reworked graphics, up to 4K resolution and 60 fps and all the content from the originals.
Originally released in 1997 by Namco, Klonoa is a side-scrolling platformer with colorful characters and a lively game world. It’s up to the player to embark on a journey to save Phantomile, slipping into the shoes of Klonoa. The remastered version adds an adjustable difficulty level and a 2-player co-op option, making it easy for newcomers to the franchise to get in on the action and longtime fans to find each other easily.
Pre-orders are not yet open, but they should not delay, hoping that physical versions are listed in France.
