Liverpool follows the trouble with a spectacle

Jürgen Klopp’s time in England is almost coming to an end: the coach still has three games left with his Liverpool FC and he will no longer win a title. In the penultimate home game together, his team delivered another strong performance after several low blows.

Liverpool FC has preserved its minimal chance of winning the English championship. Team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team won against Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 (2-0) after two games without a win. However, with two match days to go, the Premier League title is only theoretically possible with a five-point gap to league leaders Arsenal.

Klopp ordered his star striker Mohamed Salah back into the starting line-up. During the recent 2-2 draw against West Ham United, both had a verbal argument on the sidelines. “It’s not a problem. If we hadn’t known each other for so long, I’m not sure how we would deal with it. But we’ve known each other for so long and we respect each other too much,” Klopp said before the game the dispute with Salah said the matter had been “resolved”. It was the Egyptian who opened the scoring for Liverpool with a header (16′). Shortly before the break, left-back Andy Robertson made it 2-0 (45th).

Liverpool also performed better after the break. Cody Gakpo headed in a cross from Harvey Elliott to make it 3-0 (50′). Nine minutes later, the provider became the goalscorer himself, with a powerful shot from Elliott that went beautifully into the corner to make it 4-0 (59′). Tottenham’s strike duo Richarlison (72nd) and Heung-min Son (77th) embellished the final result.

Liverpool stays in third place with the win. League leaders Arsenal and defending champions Manchester City will probably still fight for the championship between themselves.
