Knitting: This is how sweaters and Co. can be styled in summer

Knitwear is chic, even in summer. Whether as a sweater, jacket or dress, the stitches make a lot on warm days. This is how the styling works.

If you set your wardrobe for summer, you should not clear the knitted parts too far back. Because in 2020 it is common practice to wear the knitwear even on warm days. Designers like Tom Ford or Stella McCartney do it with their collections. But how is knit really styled in summer?

Knitted sweater for everyday wear

Of course, knitting in summer doesn't have the same purpose as on cold winter days. Instead of warming, loose meshes provide a kind of cooling by being permeable to drafts. So why not grab an XXL knit sweater with coarse stitches and combine them with plain-colored shorts? Fashion blogger Julie SariƱana (34) has already discovered this style for herself. She is wearing classic denim shorts and sandals with her multicolored XXL cardigan. To give the look the final summer note, a bikini or bandeau top is recommended – especially under cardigans.

Knitting sets for the beach

Also popular in summer 2020: knitting sets. Influencer Leonie Hanne (31) is a fan of matching tops and bottoms. She presents a taupe-colored version with high-waist shorts on the beach, which she combines with a classic white shirt. Admittedly, this style may be a little too daring for everyday life, but it is ideal for hot days on the beach.

Jessica Paszka's (30) knitted set comes with a comparatively more closed look. The 30-year-old ex-"Bachelorette" relies on a combo of crop-free long-sleeved shirt and skirt in a white cable knit pattern.

Knitted dresses for the evening

Knitwear can't be chic? Stella McCartney (48) proves the opposite with her creations. Tubular knitted dresses have long since found their way into the collections of numerous designers. The British woman goes one step further and makes the knitwear fit for the evening. What does it take? Fancy patterns and cuts. For example, model Malgosia Bela (43) chose a design that impresses with diagonal stripes, leg slits and back cut-out.
