The eagerly awaited sequel to “Knives Out” is getting a first trailer and the official title. The cast and start date will be announced in the same breath.

In 2019, the murder-mystery Knives Out for Star Wars director Rian Johnson and his leading actor Daniel Craig was a smash hit, grossing over $300 million at the box office worldwide. The streaming service Netflix then closed a deal for 2 sequels – for the unbelievable sum of $469 million!

After the shooting of “Knives Out 2” was completed in Greece last summer, there is now big news. Director and writer Rian Johnson reveals the title, the approximate start date and the star cast of the sequel – and there is also a first short teaser trailer.

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is therefore the title of “Knives Out 2”. The sequel to the Murder Mystery will be released in the 2022 Christmas season, according to the industry journal THR. The film will be released in cinemas as well as on Netflix.

The teaser trailer seen above also confirms the ensemble cast of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. In addition to returnees and ex-007 Daniel Craig as master detective Benoit Blanc, five Marvel stars are in front of the camera: Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Kathryn Hahn (“WandaVision”), Edward Norton (“The Incredible Hulk”) and Jessica Henwick (“Iron Fist”). Ethan Hawke, known from the recently released Marvel series “Moon Knight”, will also make a cameo appearance.

Knives Out 2 also stars Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline and Kate Hudson.
