Mourning for Kenneth Mitchell: The actor died at the age of 49. He appeared in “Star Trek” and “Captain Marvel.”

Kenneth Mitchell (1974-2024) died at the age of 49 as a result of ALS, a progressive disease of the motor neurons that leads to muscle paralysis. According to a statement posted on Instagram, the Canadian actor passed away last Saturday (February 24). “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend to many,” it said.

“For five and a half years, Ken faced a series of terrible challenges caused by ALS. And, as is fitting for Ken, he managed to overcome everything with grace and dedication, living a full and joyful life in every moment,” said the statement: “He lived by the principles that every day is a gift and that we are never alone. His life is a shining example of how fulfilled one can be when one lives in love, compassion, humor, belonging and community “.

Kenneth Mitchell played various roles in Star Trek: Discovery

Kenneth Mitchell was known, among other things, for various roles in “Star Trek: Discovery”. The official “Star Trek” website says so: “The entire Star Trek family sends its condolences to Mitchell’s family, friends, loved ones and fans around the world.”

In addition to his “Star Trek” roles, Mitchell also appeared in the Marvel film “Captain Marvel”, in the supporting role of Joseph Danvers, and in the television series “Jericho – The Attack”. He has previously had guest appearances in well-known series such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “CSI: Miami” and “The Unit”. In 2004 he was also seen in the film “Miracle – The Miracle of Lake Placid” alongside Hollywood star Kurt Russell (72).

Kenneth Mitchell is survived by his wife Susan May Pratt and his two children.
