Kojima Productions: celebrities from around the world speak out for the studio’s 8th anniversary

In 2015, after his separation from KonamiHideo Kojima reformed Kojima Productions and the rest is now just history, with a first critical and commercial success that was Death Strandingto the point of now expanding this universe with a sequel, Death Stranding 2unveiled last year and a feature film in live-action which attracts beautiful people as we learned again yesterday. December 16 is therefore the anniversary date of the studio, which will therefore celebrate its 8th anniversary in a few hours. For the occasion, many celebrities close to the creator shared a few words on video and there are clearly some beautiful people there!

We find at the opening and conclusion Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier, who are part of the cast ofODthe game developed in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios which was revealed to Game Awards, with for the latter a staging with the door of what we guess is his home. Is this still a form of teasing or just a slightly clumsy staging?

Several filmmakers are also present in this video, namely Ana Lily Amirpour, twins Danny and Michael Philippou, Gareth Edwards and even the great Mamoru Oshii ! More interesting, the artist Woodkid confirms he is working with Hideo Kojima againwhich was already strongly suggested by various photos (here And there for example) shared in recent months. Since he had already participated in the soundtrack of Death Strandingit stands to reason that it should still be there on DS2. As for Elijah Wood, Don Lee and Hidetoshi Nishijimawe can wonder if they will end up appearing in the latter.

And obviously, Geoff Keighley is also there, with the qualifier “video game journalist”, which may make you smile. Too bad no other personality from the field is present. A photo with Timothée Chalamet in the studio premises has also been broadcast for the occasion, fans obviously wondering if he too will appear in one of the two games in development.

Hideo Kojima also job a message taking stock of the current state of the studio and its projects:

8 years have passed since we launched Kojima Productions. At the time, we had no development tools, no game engine, no desktop, and all we had was a notepad with a draft project and the LUDENS logo. I followed Guillermo del Toro’s advice, as I always did (before going independent): “Create an innovative and unique AAA game that fans look forward to ASAP!” » With this in mind, we searched for engines and offices, identified our links, gathered our friends and actors, and alongside promotions (trailer production, merchandise sales), at the end of 2019, the game DEATH STRANDING, our first IP, was completed. Now, KJP has entered the “2nd phase”. We have expanded our studio and strengthened our team to develop our existing IP (DEATH STRANDING) into a franchise (multi-edition, production of a sequel, film adaptation) and our next challenge, a new OD IP. Although the COVID disaster has delayed our plans, we have already launched our second auxiliary booster, completed separation and are continuing our flight into uncharted territories while adjusting our trajectory to new destinations. Thank you for your continued support.

Death Stranding 2 is expected exclusively on PS5, at an unknown date. In the meantime, you can discover this universe in Death Stranding Director’s Cutsold for €19.99 on Amazon on PS5 and €16.99 at the house of Gamesplanet on PC.
