Konami Announces Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune & Dunan Reunification Wars Coming Next Year

While all the beams of clues pointed in the direction of Silent Hill, it is therefore Suikoden who will have the honors of a return to consoles and PC next year. No new opus in sight, but a remaster developed under the direction of Sakiyama Takahiro, already director of Suikoden V. 17 years after the latter and 27 years after the first part, the first two parts of the series, which remain in the hearts of many fans as the most memorable, will be seen rewarded with a so-called HD redesign.

In other words, the sprites originals will be kept while the sets will be entirely recreated in 3D, the portraits redrawn, and all adapted to a 16:9 image ratio. Konami also announces that new visual effects will come to dress the environments and the fights, while the sound environment will also be completely revised for better immersion. Finally, on the game system side, the publisher unveils the implementation of a auto save, the possibility of accelerating the fights and even of launching them in automatic mode, while a register of the dialogues will make it possible to refresh the memory on the preceding exchanges. If Junko Kawano was also present on stage – while she is currently working on Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes – her participation in the project was not clearly announced.

Genso Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is already announced on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC for next year, with no specific date yet. A first trailer, however, was released after the end of the Konami program, while our colleagues at IGN had the exclusivity of a first video of gameplay facing the Neclord.
