Konami renews the Suikoden brand, a return planned for the Tokyo Game Show?

the Tokyo Game Show 2022 will open its doors next week and should a priori have some announcements in store for us, even if the Japanese show hasn’t really been the place of big surprises in recent years. Last week, Konami warned us that he should announce a game around a license appreciated all over the world, and inevitably, the speculations on this subject multiplied very quickly. And if we know that a priori, we should not expect a really major announcement, hope is being born on the side of Suikoden.

A collection of clues that challenges

This announcement should not concern the flagship licenses of the Japanese publisher, such as silent Hill Where Castlevania, at least according to VGC. But over the weekend, we learned that Konami had renewed the trademark registration Suikoden at the beginning of June.

The timing itself can already make you suspicious, but we are even more so when we remember that the announcement of the new game in question will be provided on stage by the seiyu Yuji Kajiknown for his roles in highly successful anime, but also for his involvement in the series Suikodennotably Suikoden 2.

We can therefore have fun linking the clues here, and say that Konami has planned to tell us about Suikoden at the TGS, but let’s be careful. A brand renewal like this is very common in the industry, and is not necessarily a harbinger of new projects. As for Yuji Kaji, he may simply have been chosen precisely because he has already worked with Konami, and because he is a very popular seiyu in Japan. So be careful, but we keep our fingers crossed all the same.
