(Boursier.com) — Korian announces that it has joined the European Aging Network (EAN) federation following its general meeting on April 5 in Malmö, Sweden. Korian thus joins the national associations of retirement homes and care networks for the elderly in 27 countries that are members of the EAN.

The EAN notably contributes to major European projects for the future of the sector, including the European Health Data Area and the European Strategy for reception and care.

Its members, serving more than one million older people in Europe, aim to promote best practice in the care of older people, so that they can live longer, healthier and more independent lives, thanks to services adapted to their needs as they evolve.

Sophie Boissard, Managing Director of the Korian group, indicates: “In addition to the action that we carry out through our national professional organizations in each of the countries in which we are present, we wish, through this direct membership of the EAN, contribute to designing common responses at European level in terms of health and old age”.
