test conclusion
Whether you are a retro fan or not, the Koss Porta Pro Wireless is a recommendation for every music lover. It sits very comfortably on the head and folds down to a handy transport size. Thanks to the supplied case, it will not be damaged when travelling. The battery life of just over 15 hours is great and handling the small control element is very easy. The great sound rounds off the good overall rating. The Koss reproduces music very precisely, balanced and at the same time beautifully lively. The somewhat dull-sounding highs are audible, but hardly spoil the overall impression. For around 65 euros (price at the time of testing) it is a real price tip.

If the Porta Pro’s look was still considered futuristic 40 years ago, the angular mix of plastic and metal can now be described as retro chic. Koss remains optically true and adopts the unmistakable look. At the same time, the audio specialists inherit one of the biggest strengths of the older brother: the Porta Pro Wireless sits very comfortably on the head. The thin fabric cushions nestle comfortably against the listeners and do not heat them up. Foam rubber pads above the ears distribute the pressure, which is particularly pleasant for people who wear glasses. The small headphones can be reduced and folded for transport. Koss includes a small plastic case that is about the size of the palm of your hand.
The Porta Pro Wireless not only looks almost exactly like its wired brother from the previous millennium, it also delivers a similarly high-quality sound. The on-ear reproduces music very pleasantly and warmly. Voices are unadulterated and beautifully clear. The basses have a precise punch. The highs are a bit dark in the upper frequency ranges, which makes the sound look a bit dull. The sound is still detailed. Listening to music with the Porta Pro is still a lot of fun.
