Kpn kon: 2021 objectives achieved, 2022 forecasts confirmed

(CercleFinance.com) – The Dutch telecom operator KPN announced on Monday that it had achieved its objectives for the past financial year, in particular thanks to the deployment of fiber and an acceleration in 5G.

The former Dutch monopoly reported this morning an operating result (Ebit) of 1.86 billion euros for the whole of 2021, against a profit of 912 million euros at the end of 2020.

However, its group turnover fell slightly (-0.3%) to 5.25 billion euros, against 5.27 billion euros expected by analysts.

The group also maintained its objectives for 2022 and announced the launch of a new share buyback program of around 300 million euros, to which must be added a 5% increase in the dividend, which should allow shareholders to benefit from a redistribution of more than 850 million euros this year.

This publication seemed to convince the market on Monday morning, since the KPN title rose by more than 0.6% on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

‘The group can now again be considered under the aspect of a file of moderate growth over the long term’, welcome the analysts of AlphaValue.

“The high investments that have been made are beginning to bear fruit and should begin to decline from 2024”, predicts the independent research office, which remains to “accumulate” on the title.
