“Krone” check – tips that are worth real money when shopping for school

At the end of the holidays, parents and students storm the local paper and stationery shops again. The “Krone” took a close look at the prices and reveals how sensible savings can be made when shopping.

Many parents are already worried about starting school. Because the annual shopping for school supplies is coming up again. And that is an additional burden on the wallet, especially in times of rising prices. For this reason, the “Krone” went to a paper and stationery shop and found out from experts how to save when shopping. If you have the choice, you have it the torment. A middle school beginner needs numerous notebooks, pens, folders and sheets of paper. And when you visit the store, the choice seems endless. From branded goods to private labels to cheap items. And if you have the choice, you are spoiled for choice. With the “Krone” check, we deliberately chose items that are in the middle price range. Nevertheless, exercise books and the like quickly added up to 160.99 euros – a proud price for 47 school items. Incidentally, sportswear for gymnastics lessons has not yet been included. But it can also be cheaper Michaela Müller from “Morawa Kärntner Buchhandlung” in Klagenfurt explains to “Krone” how parents can save money when shopping: “There are always promotions at the beginning of school. And anyone who compares the prices here has a clear advantage,” reveals Müller. Don’t buy things new straight away: “Fixture bindings can be used for up to four years. And the whole paint box does not always have to be replaced. There are individual colors to swap out here,” says the expert. If you want to save time and money, you can also have a school bag put together at selected shops: “You come to us with your shopping list and we put together the right products,” says the saleswoman. Anyone who buys thoughtfully and follows the tips will ensure that the start of school does not turn into a nasty financial surprise.
