“Krone” interview – Thiem: “That was definitely my best performance”

Done! Dominic Thiem beat Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4 in Kitzbühel and is in the semifinals of an ATP tennis tournament for the first time this year. In an interview with “Krone” reporter Jasmin Steiner, the Lower Austrian reviewed his tremendous performance and also ventured an outlook. But see and hear for yourself – in the video above.

“It was another sensational match,” said Thiem after his game. “My first semi-final this year, I couldn’t have picked a better place. The only thing that didn’t fit was the first game. The first break in the second set was unbelievable, the mood was boiling. “He would have liked the less warm conditions. “The altitude doesn’t really matter. As soon as the ball was in play, it was good.” The support from the fans was special. “Unfortunately, in tennis you only have that at home two or three times a year. That’s why I enjoy it all the more.” For Thiem, in the third Friday game after 11 a.m., it’s about making it into the final against the Serb Laslo Djere, who is classified as number five.
