“Krone” is giving away tickets – when a cabaret artist in Carinthia learns to bleat

Before cabaret artist Christian Dolezal stops off in Klagenfurt with his first solo program, he reveals his Carinthian “sheep secret” to “Krone”. We are giving away 3 x 2 cards to our readers.

“Krone”: How do you feel as a newly crowned cabaret prize winner?Christian Dolezal: Redeemed – when I consider that before the premiere I was afraid that people would think I was extremely embarrassing and mentally ill.As a “newbie” you might have still the “puppy bonus” – but now people are buying tickets for an award-winning cabaret artist. Do you feel any pressure? Honestly, no. I see my audience as my allies, not a critical mass. I just don’t want to forget any important sentences. That would be terrible for me and the whole story. That’s why I’m always very, very concentrated before the performance and don’t tolerate people chattering in my dressing room. When you took your first steps onto the cabaret stage, you had Christoph Grissemann at your side. Was it a big change for you to now stand alone? No, that’s also a release and relief, Christoph (I love and appreciate him) is a ticking time bomb on stage, completely unpredictable. That definitely has its charm and sometimes creates brilliant moments – but I need a few days of thermal baths after performances with him. People know you from the theater stage, from countless TV productions and films. Why cabaret now? I have a lot of really, really bad stories and they have to be told, I thought. In any case, money has never been a motivation for me. That’s why I don’t have much of it. Unfortunately. Maybe I should change that. Can you use your acting experience on the cabaret stage? Yes, of course that helps me. I already know how to use language and space quite well and how I have to tell something in order to achieve the desired effect. For me, cabaret is just a new way for me to express everything that is close to my heart. Whether I do it in the form of plays, stand-up or something else is irrelevant to me. The important thing is that I am sincere in what I do. In two weeks you will also be stopping off in Klagenfurt with your solo program – what do you actually associate with Carinthia? When I think of Carinthia, the first thing that comes to mind is Weißensee, where I’ve wanted to go for twenty years. But somehow it never happens. It must be beautiful. I also think of my first girlfriend, who lived on a mountain farm, where I learned to perfectly imitate the bleating of sheep and had to say table prayers with my in-laws before dinner. You are known to be very determined – even about dancing -Stars first round exit? That doesn’t bother me anymore. I wanted to float across the floor next to a first-class big band, with a professional dancer, in front of a huge audience. I can’t blame myself for cramped stumbling. I did my best. My girlfriend at the time watched it on TV and opened a small bottle of champagne. When I got home after the show she said, “Next time I’ll open a bottle of whiskey.” Actually, I’m glad that this is all over. The “Krone” is giving away 3 times 2 tickets for Christian Dolezal’s solo program “Herzensschlamperei” on February 24th in the Konzerthaus in Klagenfurt.
