“Krone” knows details – Cobra operation in Tyrol: man jumped from balcony

There was excitement in the Tyrolean community of Pfaffenhofen on Sunday afternoon! Shots were said to have been fired in a residential complex directly opposite the train station and a neighbor raised the alarm. Not only did the police respond, but also the Cobra task force. According to “Krone” information, however, the incident is said to have happened a little differently.

The calm of the relaxed, sunny Sunday was suddenly shattered in the afternoon. According to the Tyrolean police, a neighbor suddenly heard shots and immediately alerted the police. However, during a local inspection by the “Tiroler Krone”, eyewitnesses reported a slightly different version: “A man screamed from a balcony around 3 p.m. and threw things into the courtyard. A lot of police and rescue workers then came out and blocked all the access roads around the station area.” The eyewitnesses cannot confirm whether shots were actually fired. The neighbor could also have interpreted the sounds of falling objects as gunshots. “No firearm was seized.” The police press spokesman also emphasized to the “Tiroler Krone”: “The officers on site were unable to secure a firearm. For this reason, we don’t know whether shots were fired at all.” However, the fact is: the man is a 33-year-old local. “When the emergency services – twelve police patrols and the Cobra – arrived on site, he jumped 33-year-old from the balcony. “He sustained injuries,” says the spokesman. However, he probably didn’t jump from too high a height. “According to the current status, the balcony was on the first floor. The man’s injuries shouldn’t be that serious either,” reports the police officer. The 33-year-old was taken to the Innsbruck clinic. “Residents were evacuated.” Eyewitnesses also confirm this: “We saw a person being taken away on a stretcher.” And what happened to the other residents? “They were evacuated from the apartment block by the emergency services. They all found shelter on the station premises and those people who were in the snack bar there were not allowed to leave during the operation, according to the police. “Three hours later it was all over,” say the eyewitnesses.
