“Krone” presents – Riverdays: Hot regatta days on the Mur in Graz

Rowing, canoeing, stand-up paddling and dragon boats: Graz becomes the scene of large, international sports competitions.

With the Riverdays, Graz has finally established itself as a metropolis of water sports. At the beginning of July, the athletes fought hot duels on the water in four different sports. Make the start on 2.…7. the dragon boats. At the “Lions Charity Regatta” not only the sporting competition is in the foreground: The 20 teams from universities, schools, clubs and companies also fight for a good cause, the net proceeds go to a charitable project for children. Some starting places are still free. The following day the canoe national championships over 5000 meters take place, with start and finish at Augarten, the flat water race leads to Liebenau and back. The whitewater paddlers duel in the extreme slalom over the waves between Murinsel and Tegetthoffbrücke. The weekend that follows is all about rowing and stand-up paddling. 30 teams from eight nations will take part in the rowing eights regatta on July 9th.
