“Krone” report – a start to school between worry and anticipation

School bells rang again in classrooms across the country on Monday. Whether you are a high school graduate or a high school graduate – the joy on the first day of school was great despite the test and the mask.

For exactly 73,600 Salzburg students, life began again on Monday. While some started a new school year with plenty of energy from the summer holidays, for 5502 “Taferlklassler” it is the first day of school ever. All over the country, parents, children and teachers can feel the anticipation of an almost normal school year on this sunny morning.

Teacher Peter Myslik is happy that his students are back in class. “In face-to-face classes, you can simply offer a completely different quality!” He explains. Politics also promise full classrooms. But many parents ask themselves whether they are adequately prepared for autumn and why, especially with children, it is necessary to wear a mask and constant testing again (the “Krone” reported on this).

Thomas Gröblacher, father of a high school student, is satisfied with the concept for starting school: “The tests are straightforward. We were even able to do that for today at home. ”While there were sometimes long queues of children and parents with masks at schools in the state capital, the virus only played a minor role elsewhere. In St. Michael, for example, there was a cheerful opening ceremony. The children were happy about a concert by the teachers and the new phase of life. “The school is going to be really interesting and the tests don’t hurt at all,” says Felix on his first day of school. In Bischofshofen, mother Katerina Svobodova wishes “that school trips or skiing days will be possible again this year. That is important for motivation. “
