“Krone” series – Pinzgau Christkindl post box for wishes

The “Krone” series about the most beautiful Advent markets in the federal state – this time in Pinzgau. In addition to delicacies, there is something special in the Innergebirg.

It’s the second weekend in Advent – the people of Salzburg are slowly getting into the Christmas spirit. In the next part of the series, the “Krone” takes a look at the most beautiful Advent markets in the country in the Pinzgau. Unlike in the state capital, the Pinzgau Advent and Christmas markets are usually only open on weekends and public holidays – with one exception, Zell’s town square, where punch is served from Wednesday. In addition to the delicacies, there is also a program and special features. In Zell am See there is an Advent feeling both in the Elisabeth Park on the lake and on the town square. After a two-year Corona break, the locals are looking forward to the so-called Star Advent Market. Alphorns will be heard as well as accordion tones. On Christmas Eve (11 a.m.), a dedicated Christkindl will read stories to the children of Zell. In the middle of the center of Saalfelden, on the town hall square, there are several wooden stands again this year, where visitors can warm up by a fire with mulled wine and the like. A horse-drawn carriage is also making its rounds. Children’s eyes will light up at the Mittersill National Park Advent market: there is a post box for the Christ child. The letters with wishes are forwarded to the parents. In addition, there are “living handicraft workshops”. The locals in Maria Alm call their Advent market a pilgrimage Advent market. In addition to tower horns and torchlight hikes, concerts are also offered. In addition, the proceeds benefit children in need.
