(Reuters) – Kyiv was the target of a Russian drone attack overnight from Thursday to Friday, the sixth such attack on the Ukrainian capital since the beginning of the month, authorities report.

Other drones targeted central, southern and western regions of the country. Twenty-four out of 28 drones were shot down by air defense, the Air Force said.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that a drone explosion had sparked a fire, which was quickly brought under control, in the top floors of a building in the Solomyanskyi district in the south of the city. Emergency services reported two people injured.

Two other drones struck a house under construction and a building in the south of the capital, without causing any casualties.
