Paris SG striker Kylian Mbappé, injured on February 1 and announced unavailable for three weeks, resumed training on Sunday according to several French sports media, optimistic about his presence on Tuesday against Bayern in the Champions League.

Good news for Paris Saint-Germain? At 48 hours from the first leg in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Bayern Munich, the Parisian club could find its star, who until then had been announced absent. The 24-year-old striker took part in part of the collective session with the players not used or little used on Saturday in Monaco (3-1 defeat), carried out individual exercises and even struck on goal, according to the daily L’Equipe, information given also by RMC Sports.

The two media evoke the possibility for the Frenchman to be present on the match sheet Tuesday in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes. Asked about the possibility of seeing Mbappé return sooner than expected, coach Christophe Galtier was pessimistic on Saturday evening: “I don’t think so. He is following his rehabilitation protocol. He suffered a muscle injury. We will take zero, zero, zero risk with Kylian”.

Victim of a thigh injury

Mbappé suffered a left thigh injury on February 1 in Montpellier in the league. His duration of absence had been estimated at three weeks by the club. The Bayern coach had questioned PSG’s communication, not ruling out the possibility of a bluff.

“I don’t think he’ll be out. I don’t know what he has, what’s on the website is vague. I’m preparing for the game as if he’s going to play” , explained Julian Nagelsmann in early February.
