La Banque Postale launches a 150 million euro fund to focus on nuggets of fintech and cybersecurity

After platform58, an incubator launched in 2018, La Banque Postale announced the creation of a fund to support young fintech, insurtech and cybersecurity start-ups. About ten investments per year are planned.

La Banque Postale has a new structure to invest in French start-ups. The banking subsidiary of the postal group has announced the creation of an investment fund of 150 million euros. Called 115K, the latter should help support start-ups in fintech, insurtech and cybersecurity, as well as related sectors such as data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and Web3.

This new fund plans to make about ten investments per year. As part of these fundraisers, in seed or series A, La Banque Postale plans to inject entry tickets ranging from €250,000 to €5 million. The investment vehicle reserves the right to participate in subsequent funding rounds if necessary.

While the 115K fund was announced at VivaTech, it has actually been operational for several months with investments in start-ups Cashbee (savings solutions), Carbo (carbon footprint measurement), Joe (split payment ) and Cosmian (cybersecurity). The first three were already supported by La Banque Postale since they went through the group’s incubator, platform58, launched in 2018. The latter has supported around forty start-ups to date.
