“Vic lives quietly between high school, his parents and Poupette, his great-grandmother. When his mother learns of the existence of a former mistress of her husband, she decides to “take a break” but from the height of his 13 years Vic only thinks of his first boom…”

40 years ago to the day, on December 8, 1982, French spectators rushed to cinemas to discover the continuation of the adventures of their favorite teenager, Vic Beretton, in La Boum 2.

And it was 2 years earlier that they had met her in the first part released on December 17, 1980, a romantic comedy in the era of time which had been able to reflect with tenderness and accuracy the adolescent emotions of a young girl who wishes to choose his life and his loves.

Thus, the La Boum saga, from the top of its 2 films signed Claude Pinoteau, is indeed that of a whole generation. Undoubtedly cult, the first feature film is the one that launched the career of the young Sophie Marceau and the second the one that offered her the César for Best Female Hope at the 8th edition of the prestigious ceremony.

A true social phenomenon, La Boum enjoyed a great success at the box office. Indeed, the first opus is the film which brought together the most spectators for the year 1980 with 4,378,430 admissions (and 15,000,000 in Europe), thus placing itself ahead of The Empire Strikes Back.

This is how the second part was born – again with Sophie Marceau, Claude Brasseur and Brigitte Fossey – which will be seen by 4,071,600 viewers here, thus confirming the success of the beloved little franchise.
