When measuring the brightness at 45°, we realized that the Sony Bravia XR-55A95K television equipped with the new QD-Oled panel showed no loss of brightness. By way of comparison, an OLED TV displays between 12 and 18° of loss, an already excellent figure. VA LCD televisions are very far from this result with around 70% loss of brightness at 45°.
Sony Bravia 55A95K: the image at 45° is identical to that visible from the front.
TCL 65C825: the loss of brightness is already very visible at 45°.
A photo is better than a long speech and you can see at a glance that the Sony A95K displays an identical image at 45°, while the loss of brightness is very visible on a television fitted with an LCD panel, such as the TCL 65C825 used for comparison.
Sony Bravia 55A95K: the image at 70° is very close to that visible from the front.
TCL 65C825: the loss of brightness is even greater at 70°.
At 70°, the Sony still manages to produce an image with very little variation, whereas that displayed by the VA television is almost unusable.
Obviously, no one watches a TV with such an open angle, but this is still a guarantee of quality for QD-Oled technology and ensures that all viewers benefit from the same image quality, even those furthest from the centre.
