Lacroix wins a contract in Belgium – 12/13/2022 at 18:16

(AOF) – Through a call for tenders launched by the organization in charge of the region’s regional road and motorway infrastructure (AWV), the authorities of the Flanders Region (Vlaams Overheid) have selected a group of 5 integrators led by the French construction company Eiffage. The project aims to replace the public lighting road network and modernize it by equipping it with an intelligent management system, with the key to significantly reducing energy consumption.

In this context, Lacroix, through its City activity, is involved in the supply of controllers to Eiffage and the other integrators of the group, within a modular and secure solution allowing the intelligent management of lighting, as well as the automated consumption data from the grid operator.

According to the terms of the agreement, the electronic equipment manufacturer anticipates a turnover of more than 10 million euros, the recognition of which will be spread over the 2023 and 2024 financial years.

Growth of the French market in value

According to the Gfk institute, the sector generated sales of 4.8 billion euros in 2021, up 2% compared to 2020. The product families that benefited from the best performance are in particular helmets and accessories as well as televisions. However, while the French consumer electronics market grew in value last year, it fell in terms of volumes (-2% with 51 million units sold). This trend can be explained by a move upmarket in products: Bluetooth speakers are more powerful or even television sets use more innovative technologies. Thus the development of technologies that improve image resolution (Oled, Qled, miniled) and the size of screens have caused an increase of more than 20% in the average price. Consumers are also looking for more sustainable products.
