Lady Diana: this condition on which she would have accepted the marriage of Charles and Camilla

Nearly three decades after Princess Diana was tragically killed in a horrific car crash in Paris, a royal expert has shared her thoughts on how Diana might have led her life, as well as her true feelings about her ex-husband, King Charles III, and his wife Camilla. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond offered the unexpected insight on the anniversary of Diana’s death on August 31. In an interview with OK! Magazineshe said: “I think Diana would have remarried if she had lived,” adding: “I don’t know who she would have married or where she would have lived, but if she had found new happiness, it would have made things easier for Charles and Camilla.”

The former BBC royal correspondent then shared what Diana had told her during one of their private conversations: “Towards the end of her life, she had accepted that Charles and Camilla were deeply in love. She told me that she understood that their love was stronger than any marriage he could have entered into with anyone else. However, she still saw no reason for them to take the next step of marriage.” Despite this, the expert believes that Diana could have accepted this union if she herself had managed to move on and find love again. “I think she would have eventually accepted it, especially if she had remarried,” she confided, adding:And maybe she would have had other children…she certainly hadn’t ruled out that possibility when we discussed it.”

Lady Diana: How she would have avoided the rift between her sons

Charles and Camilla married in April 2005, eight years after Diana’s tragic death and just two months after publicly announcing their engagement. They had been living together at Clarence House since 2003 before taking the plunge. In addition to Diana’s changing feelings towards her ex-husband, Jennie Bond believes that had Diana survived, the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry could have been avoided, and would certainly never have reached the point where they virtually cut off all contact. The expert also said she believes the princess would have “does his best” to support Harry and Meghan Markle in their decision to step back from royal life, having herself “opened the way for this possibility”. Unfortunately, we will never know whether these assumptions would have proven correct.
