Eight weeks after the tragic death of her husband, Lady Gabriella Windsor will celebrate her 43rd birthday on April 23, 2024. For the first time in nine years, the royal has to spend her special day without Thomas Kingston at her side. The financial expert was found dead in his parents’ home on February 25, 2024. He was only 45 years old.

The widow has since retired. Even on her birthday, you can hardly expect an official statement or appearance – Lady Gabriella Windsor has been enjoying her life away from the spotlight for years. King Charles’ second cousin, 75, will not have to spend her birthday alone. Who she can rely on in these dark times…

Lady Gabriella Windsor and her brother Lord Frederick Windsor are close

Lord Frederick Windsor, 45, is likely to be a rock in the surf. According to media reports, Lady Gabriella and her brother are said to have a close connection. This has been evident in recent years not only at the wedding of Gabriella and Thomas Kingston, but also at many high society events in London. Whether it was attending the horse races at Ascot together or the tennis tournament at Wimbledon: Gabriella and Frederick always appeared in public as a unit over the years.

Frederick’s wife, British actress Sophie Winkleman, 43, will also now support her sister-in-law. The “Two an a Half Men” star has been part of the Windsor family since 2009 and was able to see Lady Gabriella fall in love with Thomas Kingston. Since she married into the British royal family, Winkleman – officially Lady Frederick Windsor – has been part of Lady Gabriella Windsor’s inner circle. A connection that is likely to be stronger than ever thanks to Kingston’s tragic death.

Lady Emily Compton has been a member of the circle of friends since 2007

Another ally of Lady Gabriella Windsor is Lady Emily Compton, 44. The British fashion designer has been repeatedly linked to the royal since 2007. The women like to pose together at events. Most recently, the 42-year-old supported her friend at the launch of a jewelry collection that Lady Emily Compton helped create.

It is not known how the women met. In fact, they work in the same business. Both Lady Gabriella Windsor and Compton work as freelance journalists. They also have a lot in common: both spent a few years in South America. Emily Compton’s husband, Edward Horner, works in finance, as did Thomas Kingston.

Marisa Hordern

The jewelry designer Marisa Hordern is also part of the royal’s close circle of friends. Lady Gabriella Windsor didn’t miss her friend’s 40th birthday costume party in London. The 42-year-old also likes to join the designer at business events and support the young company. Now Gabriella can probably hope for her friend’s help and care in return.

Princess and Prince Michael of Kent try to get back to everyday life

Of course, Lady Gabriella Windsor will be able to rely on her family in particular after her husband’s death. Her parents Princess, 79, and Prince Michael of Kent, 81, also support their daughter. At the same time, they slowly try to resume life after the terrible event. A few days before their daughter’s birthday, the prince and princess were spotted leaving Oswald’s Club in London.

One thing is certain: the 42-year-old widow is currently going through what is probably the most difficult phase of her life. Not only will her birthday make the loss of her husband painfully clear to her, but also the approaching wedding day. The couple tied the knot on May 18, 2019 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. They were able to celebrate five wedding anniversaries – now Lady Gabriella Windsor faces a life without Thomas.
