Lady Gaga and Co .: The living room concert of the world stars

Under the motto "One World: Together At Home", many world stars gave a virtual benefit concert together on behalf of the Corona helpers on Saturday night. It was organized by Oscar winner Lady Gaga (34) and the aid organization Global Citizen. Around two weeks after the announcement of the concert, her call was followed by countless superstars: The Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Billie Eilish, Elton John, John Legend, Paul McCartney, Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Lopez, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora, Lizzo, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, pianist Lang Lang and many more.

There was not only a lot to marvel at musically. The two-hour show was moderated by late night stars Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel. Between the gigs, stars such as entertainer Heidi Klum, moderator Oprah Winfrey and actor Matthew McConaughey also explained what the event was all about: They thanked the helpers on behalf of everyone for their commitment.

Lady Gagas "love letter to the world"

Lady Gaga opened the benefit concert with a refreshing cover of Nat King Cole's (1919-1965) classic "Smile" from her home. As a greeting, according to People, she said, "In the past few weeks, we have seen incredible bravery, courage, and kindness all over the world in response to this global pandemic, from doctors and nurses at the forefront to volunteer specialists for mental health, grocery store employees, parcel delivery staff, and postal workers – have shown an unprecedented level of friendliness in the fight against Covid-19. "

The event was explicitly "not a fundraiser, so put your wallets away," added Lady Gaga. "It is our love letter to the world."

At the end she performed the Dion-Bocelli duet "The Prayer" (1999) together with Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli together with John Legend and Lang Lang.
