Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born with Lady Gaga airs tonight on TMC. In which film will we see the singer next?
On the occasion of the broadcast of A star is Born on TMC, a look back at the film career of singer Lady Gaga and her highly anticipated project.
In 2016, the singer-songwriter and actress received the Golden Globes for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as The Countess in Ryan Murphy’s anthology series American Horror Story: Hotel.
Two years later, Bradley Cooper offered her her first major film role in A Star is Born and allowed the singer to show the extent of her talent.
She was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actress and Best Song categories for “Shallow“. If the first goes to Olivia Colman for The Favorite, the Mother Monster receives the statuette for the best original song.

Until now, Lady Gaga had only had small roles in feature films: an extra-terrestrial in Men in Black III, The Chameleon in Machete Kills, a waitress in Sin City: I killed for her. Since A Star is Born and its 436 million dollars at the international box office (for a budget of 36 million $), Lady Gaga only appears on the big screen in leading roles.
In 2021, she is the headliner of Ridley Scott’s film, House of Gucci. For this film inspired by a true story, she slips into the skin of Patrizia Reggiani, wife and sponsor of the murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, played on screen by Adam Driver.
The actress tours sporadically since her main activity obviously remains music and tours take her time.

However, in June 2022, Lady Gaga was announced for the casting of Todd Phillips’ film, Joker: Folie à deux. The performer of “Poker face” should play the role of Harley Quinn, the fiancée of the Joker still played by Joaquin Phoenix.

A role that suits him like a glove, especially since this sequel should be a musical. Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix will share the poster with Zazie Beetz, already present in the first opus, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland and Brendan Gleeson.
Released in October 2019, Joker was an international triumph, grossing $1.07 billion at the global box office and winning two Oscars (Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix and Original Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir.)
Scheduled in our theaters on October 2, 2024, Joker 2 could well allow the multi-award-winning singer to land a new Oscar nomination (after A Star is born).
