Joker: Folie à Deux, sequel to the successful 2019 feature film, reveals two new never-before-seen photos!
For the end-of-year holidays, Todd Phillips, director of Joker, revealed two new photos from Folie à deux, the long-awaited sequel to the great success of 2019. On his Instagram account, the director posted two photos of the film accompanied by the following commentary: “I wish you all a happy holiday and a wonderful New Year.”
In the first photo, we can see Joaquin Phoenix dressed as Joker with his iconic costume. Lady Gaga, aka Harley Quinn, looks at him admiringly and in love. As for the second photo, it shows a clown prince of crime locked in his cell in Arkham Asylum.
We see his face through the small window of his prison. The Joker seems completely consumed by hatred, his head pointed towards the ground, his gaze glaring. While waiting for a first trailer for this sequel, fans have reason to be very excited with these images; the latter suggests a work in line with the first episode on an aesthetic level.
Joker: Folie à deux will be released in theaters on October 2, 2024, 5 years after the first part, which collected $1 billion at the global box office. It also earned Joaquin Phoenix the Oscar for Best Actor for his mind-blowing performance in the costume of Batman’s worst enemy.
After the very dark tone of the previous opus, this Joker 2 promises to be a little more crazy and colorful, in particular because of the surprising decision to make it a musical work. A little more patience before finding out more with a first trailer which should arrive sometime in 2024.
