Lagaf’ cash with the boss of TF1

In his latest book, My name was Franck, Vincent Lagaf delivers crisp anecdotes about his time at TF1.

From the late 90s and early 2000s, Vincent Lagaf’ had great success on TF1 with games like Le Bigdill, L’Or à l’appel and Le Juste Prix. A popular success on the public side which did not prevent him from knowing behind the scenes some tensions, particularly with the chain’s CEO at the time. Vincent Lagaf’ did not hide on Telepro : “With Patrick Le Lay, yeah, I say it, we almost came to blows. With Étienne Mougeotte next door who says ‘gentlemen, gentlemen, calm down’.” Vincent Lagaf’, know it himself, at the time, he describes himself as “too impulsive, too sincere”, not supporting people aroundgives himr lessons.

TF1 was in the firmament of success

And Vincent Lagaf’ was not the only one to raise his voice in the corridors of TF1:“Jean-Pierre Pernaut, it was the same: When Le Lay came to tell him that from today onwards it was forbidden to smoke in the offices, Pernaut said to him ‘you go out by the door, where I’m not taking you out the window’.” At the time, however, the channel posted insolent audience ratings and good profitability.
Even the star presenter of 20-hours, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor had his moods! “When PPDA had his annoyances, he got into a fight with the bosses and it ended in shouting. No one has ever come to blows. With Patrick Le Lay, we ended up like that,” Vincent Lagaf’ then mimics a stormy face to face, “it’s a sentence that I said a lot ‘don’t talk to me like that’,” specifies the former animator.
