Lagardère: Arnaud Lagardère resigns from his executive mandates

(Boursier.com) — M . Arnaud Lagardère informed, on April 30, the directors of Lagardere SA of the indictment as well as the interim measure prohibiting management pronounced against him on April 29, 2024.

He contests these decisions against which he will appeal and appeal.

Despite this appeal, the ban on management forced Mr. Arnaud Lagardère to resign from his executive mandates within the Group.

The Board of Directors of Lagardère SA met today to adopt the provisional arrangements required to ensure the good governance of the Group while awaiting the possibility for Mr. Arnaud Lagardère to take over effective management.

On the recommendation of the Nominations, Remuneration and CSR Committee, also meeting today, the Board of Directors unanimously decided to co-opt Mr. Jean-Christophe Thiery as director and to appoint him as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lagardère SA.

The appointment of Jean-Christophe Thiery as Chairman and CEO of Hachette Livre will also be submitted very soon to the company’s board of directors.

Mr. Jean-Christophe Thiery has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Canal+ Group since 2018, a position he will retain.

The Board of Directors also took note of the decision of Mr. Arnaud Lagardère to appoint Ms. Constance Benqué as President of the company Lagardère Commandité SAS and Manager of Lagardère Radio SCA, holding company of the radio division (Europe 1, Europe 2 and RFM) since the implementation of its autonomy.

These appointments, made on a provisional basis, will ensure business continuity, with the commitment of managers and talented teams from Lagardère Publishing, Lagardère Travel Retail, Lagardère News, Lagardère Radio, Lagardère Live Entertainment and Lagardère Paris Racing.
