Lagardère: launch of the weekly “JDNEWS” in September (press)


(AOF) – The president of Lagardère News, Constance Benqué, revealed in Le Figaro the launch in September of a new weekly news magazine called “JDNEWS”. This announcement comes as the Lagardère group, owned by Vivendi, is on track to sell one of its flagships, “Paris-Match” to the LVMH group on the basis of an enterprise value of 120 million euros. .

On newsstands on Wednesday, “JDNEWS” will be aimed at readers “who want to hear about proud France, who thirst for freedom of expression and who wish to read articles about the excellence of the French model”, specifies Constance Benqué .

The latter added that this launch is synonymous with the discontinuation of the monthly JDD Magazine, which did not manage to find a sufficient readership.

The head of Lagardère also announced the appointment of Laurence Ferrari, one of the figures of the CNews channel, as “president of the JDD brand, which will include JDD and JDNEWS”.

In April, the Lagardère group announced a 14.3% drop in turnover from its press activity in the first quarter.
