“Two candles lit in Germany”
Two people from Munich sat in the luxury motorboat – Jens D. * (52) and Achim S. * (52). The two have now written a letter to the families of the two victims, reports “Il Giorno”.
«We would like to express our condolences to you for the loss of your loved ones. Immediately after our return to Germany, we lit two candles and prayed in memory of your loved ones, ”says the letter.
The death drivers speak of a “dramatically terrible tragedy” and hope “to find the strength to overcome this immeasurable pain and one day to be able to feel the light of life again”.
However, the message did not go down well with the recipients: “It is a belated text and not at all sincere,” says the family’s lawyer, Raimondo Del Dosso. You can see that it is “not written with the heart, but with the head.” The letter wasn’t even signed by hand.
No help got
When the accident broke out, the two men were apparently drunk and traveling at far too high a speed. Before that, they had watched the European Championship match between Germany and Portugal in the town of Salò and drank beer. Then they took the boat to the other side of the lake, where they drank wine over dinner. On the way back to Salò there was a death crash.
Instead of getting help, they drove to the harbor, where they apparently continued to drink. According to her lawyer Guido Sola, the CFO and the commercial clerk did not find out about the accident until the next day.
