Landing failed – paraglider (67) crashes in the forest – vertebral fractures

A serious paragliding accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Höfen in the Ausserfern region of Tyrol. A 67-year-old could no longer land with his paraglider and fell over a piece of forest. He sustained serious injuries.

The German started at around 3.45 p.m. for a paragliding flight on the Hahnenkamm in Höfen. Later he wanted to land, but could no longer steer his parachute because the wind conditions had changed. As a result, the 67-year-old fell in a forest. Witness sounded the alarm. The pilot suffered several vertebral fractures. A witness called the rescue. The emergency doctor treated the injured man on site, after which he was taken to the hospital in Reutte.
