When a cliff was demolished in the small Welsh town of Nefyn, some residential buildings lost their gardens. Strollers who witnessed the demolition had the shock of their lives. The avalanche is around 40 meters wide.
The area is known for the unstable subsoil. In 2001 a car was thrown into the sea. One woman was killed and her husband was seriously injured.
The authorities advised residents to leave their homes. Because at the moment it is only the gardens that have been torn down. Next time it could be the building itself. (gf)
