With a range made up of atypical optics, Venus Optics and its Laowa brand are enriching their offer with a new lens for micro 4/3 hybrids such as the Panasonic Lumix GH6 or Olympus OM-1. The 6mm f/2 Zero-D MFT is an ultra wide-angle lens that relies on its compactness to support photographers and videographers looking for compact equipment to easily carry or mount on a stabilizer or drone.
Small footprint and large opening
For its latest addition, Laowa is betting on an effective recipe: a small footprint, with a pebble just 52 mm long for 188 g and a large f/2 aperture to make it even more versatile. Equivalent to a 12mm full frame, this lens offers an angle of view of 121.9° and a focusing distance of 9cm.
Designed for ultra-wide-angle photography, this pebble belongs to the brand’s Zero-D (Zero Distortion) family. Compared to the Cine version, it gains an aperture motor that allows the diaphragm to be adjusted from f/2 to f/16 directly from the body, eliminating the adjustment ring and thus gaining more compactness and versatility. . The diaphragm is also a five-blade element allowing, once closed, a precise starry bokeh.

Alongside the recent announcement of the 19mm f/2.8 Zero-D GFX for Fujifilm medium format, the Laowa 6mm f/2 Zero-D MFT is expected for the month of February at a price of €699.
