Russia attacks Ukraine with air strikes almost every day. Shahed-type flying objects are also used throughout. Kyiv can now retaliate with an attack and destroys hundreds of the drones.
The Ukrainian military says it attacked and destroyed a drone camp in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar. The General Staff in Kiev said that another explosion was recorded after a direct hit.
Accordingly, around 400 Iranian Shahed drones were stored in the attacked building. “The destruction of the Shahed drone camp will significantly reduce the ability of the Russian occupiers to terrorize peaceful residents of Ukrainian cities and villages,” it said.
Russian authorities have confirmed at least one fire in a warehouse near the town of Oktyabrsky. The area was cordoned off over a large area and around 800 square meters were in flames, the regional operations staff in the Krasnodar region said. The coordinates match the drone strike reported by Kyiv. However, the operations staff did not provide any information about the cause of the fire or the objects stored there.
Also attack on weapons depots
The Shahed drones were developed by Iran and are regularly used in Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities. In September alone, Moscow’s troops deployed over 1,300 drones of this type, according to a report in the Kyiv Independent.
Last night, Ukraine attacked a Russian weapons depot in the Bryansk border region. The depot, which also stores ammunition supplied by North Korea, was the target of an air attack that night, the Ukrainian army said.
The stocks, which were largely stored outdoors, included glide bombs and “ammunition for rocket and artillery systems, including those delivered from North Korea.” According to Russian state media, authorities in Bryansk declared a state of emergency in the Karachevsky district due to “explosions.”
