Large families – A mother talks about her painful breakup: “When respect is no longer there…”

On Monday August 29, 2022, Delphine Colas joined the big family of the show Large families, life in XXL which began its fifth season on TF1. In a relationship with Olivier since 2011, the 40-year-old young woman is mother of five children : Selena, Gabriel, Paul, Louise and Alba. His two eldest Selena and Gabriel are from a previous relationship.

It’s the best decision I’ve made

In a story published on Instagram on the night of Friday September 16 to Saturday September 17, Delphine Colas answered a question from one of her subscribers who asked her if it was not too scary to leave the father of her two children. “If, of course, I was scared when I left Selena and Gabriel’s fathershe replied. I was 29 years old. But when it’s not going well with someone, when the respect is no longer there, I think it’s better to leave. It’s the best decision I’ve made. There are over seven billion human beings on Earth, so why let one person ruin your life? Despite the fear of the future, we can find the resources within us to move towards a better life, if necessary”, she added.

If Delphine Colas spoke without filter on her separation from the father of her elders on Instagram, she will also have taken advantage of the TF1 program to discuss a subject, the loss of her stillborn baby. The 40-year-old young woman had already spoken on this subject in an interview with our colleagues from Entertainment TV : “For us, it’s very important to talk about the death of our baby, on the show, because obviously he’s still part of our family. It’s not because no one knew him, put apart from us, his parents, that he didn’t exist. We went through a very difficult time losing Alba’s twin brother. He died the day he was born. I find that the loss of a child in the prenatal period is a subject that is still too taboo. And if that can give hope, freeing up the floor so that parents can grieve without guilt, well that will already be very good.
