The students were immediately evacuated and some are now waiting on the sports field until the all-clear can be given. “We take the situation very seriously,” said police spokesman Mario Nemetz. Police patrols, the Cobra task force, explosives specialists from the defusing service and a sniffer dog are on duty and are searching all school buildings. The area around the school grounds has been cordoned off. The large-scale operation also caused a stir among shoppers in the area. No one is allowed near the school grounds until the all-clear. Just two days ago, on Tuesday, a bomb threat written on a piece of paper was found in the St. Veit vocational school. The police have not yet confirmed whether a copycat is assumed. Nevertheless, the incident must be taken seriously and the situation must be checked carefully, according to the emergency services.
