Larian communicates on save issues in Baldur’s Gate 3

Since the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on August 3, Larian continues to apply patches to improve the gaming experience. On August 16, when the fourth was released, an error in the latter forced the development team to disable it and backtrack . It will only have been online for a few hours, but it will have caused a lot of trouble. This will still have been enough to create countless backups, all of which were inaccessible until this patch #4 returned to Baldur’s Gate 3.

The latest addition to Larian offers a huge playground, of which only one area has been able to benefit from the return of players during the 3 years of Early Access. The more the adventure progresses, the more the problems multiply. Many fixes have therefore been deployed since launch, in order to make the experience as stable as possible. However, the release of patch #4 was not the most convincing. Despite all the fixes, other issues have surfaced causing numerous in-game crashes.

So the decision was made to take a little time travel. The previous version has thus been put back online. This did not happen without consequences. All backups made in the meantime are no longer available on Baldur’s Gate 3. However, these are not lost. They will be accessible again once patch #4 is stabilized and redeployed. A good opportunity to take a little well-deserved break, until everything is operational again.
