U2 made their presence felt at the $2.3 billion Sphere event venue in Las Vegas, which is 111 meters high and 157 meters wide. With great visual effects, the band opened their 25-show program with a series of hits such as “Mysterious Ways”, “Zoo Station”, “All I Want is You”, “Desire” and the new single “Atomic City”.
There were a wealth of attractive visual elements throughout the evening – including kaleidoscope images, a burning flag and the Las Vegas skyline – that took the more than 18,000 visitors on U2’s musical journey.
There were many celebrities in the audience: Oprah, Matt Damon, Paul McCartney and Orlando Bloom. U2 lead singer Bono also acknowledged the efforts of James Dolan, the owner of the Sphere building. With 160,000 high-quality speakers and 260 million video pixels, this drives the audio landscape for live concerts.
