Will the next 007 be a man or a woman? Actress Lashana Lynch has now commented on this question in an interview.

Could Daniel Craig, 53, be followed by a female cast of the 007 agent? From the point of view of Lashana Lynch (33), who plays the double-0 agent Nomi in the upcoming Bond film “No Time to Die”, nothing stands in the way. “We’re at a point where the industry isn’t just giving the audience what they think they want. They are giving the audience what they want the audience to be. With Bond, that could be a man or a woman.” , says the actress in an interview with “The Guardian”.

When it comes to diversity, there are no limits for Lynch either. The new Bond could be “white, black, Asian, multiracial, […] be young or old. Even if a two-year-old was playing Bond, at the end of the day everyone would flock to the movies to see what that two-year-old was going to do, right? “

Will Lashana Lynch herself be the new 007?

Lashana Lynch is the first in James Bond history to act as a female double-O agent. “I think they were just looking for someone to take on Bond,” she suggests. Nomi would develop into a “rather complicated, free, open-minded person”, “who gives the MI6 a really nice twist”. When asked whether Lynch sees himself in the role of the new 007, she replied with a laugh: “No! You don’t want me.”

In an interview in 2019, the actor made it clear that Daniel Craig quit the James Bond era. Since then, there has been constant speculation about who could succeed Craig after “No Time to Die”. As of September 30th, Craig will be seen in his last 007 appearance on the big screen.
