Late Night Age: Start of new late night show planned for autumn

The new show "Late Night Age" is expected to be shown on ZDFneo from next autumn.

After the last episode of "Neo Magazin Royale" last December, a replacement for Jan Böhmermann (39) seems to have been found. The new show "Late Night Age" is expected to start on ZDFneo in autumn 2020, as the station has now announced.

Between diversity and climate change

The show is moderated by Ariane Alter (34). According to a current press release, Alter wants to "take a position and show an attitude" on the show – and that without "raised index finger". It is planned to take up "relevant topics for 25 to 39 year olds". The broadcaster gives examples of gentrification, gender, climate change, pay gap and diversity. With studio guests age wants to pack serious topics in a playful way.

At the beginning of June it was announced that Jan Böhmermann should also return to TV with a new show in autumn. According to a report by "DWDL", work on a new format for the main ZDF program began some time ago.
